How long does it last?
Acne is a condition that can be caused by multiple factors. Contributing factors to acne could be diet, hormones, skincare regimen, gut health, lifestyle factors. While this treatment does help to prevent future breakouts if the underlying factors of the acne are not addressed then ongoing treatments are required.
How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments will vary according to the degree of the condition, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to treatment. Most people see results after 4 weeks and this continues to improve over the course of the following 8-12 weeks.
What are the side effects and risks involved?
Because the PRP is derived from your own blood this procedure is associated with little to no risks or side effects. Extreme care is taken to clean your skin prior to the procedure.Redness, moderate swelling, and discomfort in the treatment area are common, these usually resolve after 24-48 hours after the treatment.It is important to wear sun protection and avoid direct light for at least 2 weeks after treatment.It is advised to avoid sweating for 24 hours after treatment.
Can anyone get this procedure?
As with a majority of cosmetic procedures, this treatment should not be used on women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Before Treatment:
Before beginning a treatment program, you must first attend an assessment and information consultation, during which your skin type, facial cosmetic concerns, expectations and goals will be assessed and discussed.Then the best treatment or combination of treatments will be selected for your skin type, facial cosmetic concerns, expectations and aesthetic goals.You should not have any treatments if you have tanned skin, until the tan has faded appreciably (at least 6 weeks) and avoiding tanning for 2 weeks afterwards.If you are using artificial tanning creams, allow these to fade (for 2-3 weeks) prior to beginning treatment.You should discontinue the use of Retinol and Retina A 4-6 weeks prior to procedures.You should not have taken Accutane within 3 months of the procedure.
Day of Treatment:
On the day of treatment, it is recommended that no makeup is worn on the treatment area, or around treatment area. Please be hydrated. For most of the treatments a numbing agent will be applied 45 minutes prior to the procedure. Wear comfortable clothes.
After treatment:
Following the treatments, after-care instructions will be given, there may be a minor degree of redness and puffiness to the skin, with some tingling discomfort that usually disappears within 1 hour to 2 days, depending on the treatment. You may apply makeup immediately and return to your regular daily activities24 hours after any procedure. Avoid the sun for the next 2 weeks minimum. Apply sunscreen and wear a hat when you do go out into the sun.
